2009 Schedule  (Note: Check Frequently for Changes)

We have been invited to play at the Bass Pro Shop Salvation Army Kettle site on "Black Friday" November 27th.  The time we play depends on when the players can be there.  They will fit us in the show.  There will be several other Groups and personalities there as well.  This came up at short notice so we are scrambling for Brass players at the moment.  We are inviting guests to help us out with this gig.

Our Salvation Army Kettle Performance will be Saturday December, 5th 2009 at the Hy-Vee at 119th and Ridgeview in Olathe, KS from 2pm to 4pm.

Looking Forward to 2010!!!

Jan-Apr is Winter/Spring Indoor Season with one Parade.                                                                                                                                                                          May-Aug is Summer season consisting of Outdoor Field Shows to include our own local show and Parades.                                                                                                    August to October is Parade Season consisting of several local Parades.                                                                                                                                             November and December: We also get into the Christmas Spirit by playing at the Salvation Army Kettle.

2010 Season Starts

Note: 2010 will be divided into 4 Different sessions. (Winter/Spring, Summer, Parade, and Christmas) If a travel event is cancelled, we will attempt to fill it with a local event.

Winter/Spring Session  

January:  

Brass Sectional Saturday January, 2nd from 10 to 2pm. This will be for local KC Metro Brass Players.

Full Corps Rehearsal Saturday January 23rd from 11am to 5pm.  Marching/Music/Show Drill for Opener.

$25.00 Dollar Non-refundable Dues due at rehearsal.  Music book to be handed out to Hornline and Drum Line.  Color Guard Orientation and Equipment Work.  We will start show drill immediatly.  We will take uniform orders at this rehearsal.  Uniform top will be $40.00 dollars.

February:

Performing Arts Foundation Color Guard Show Saturday February, 13th in or around Wichita, KS.  We will have the "National Anthem" and "Home on the Range" prepaired as well as the Show Opener "Cowtown Blues". I'll have more information on this show soon.

March: St. Patrick's Day Parade Wednesday March, 17th in Leavenworth, KS.  We will meet in Leavenworth at 10am (meeting site to be announced probably the VFW) Parade starts at Noon.  We will invite other Corps to join us in marching this Parade.

April: Loooking for Event on the 3rd or 17th or 24th. 

Summer Session Starts

May: Camp Rehearsal TBA.  1st rehearsal for Summer Session.  $25.00 dollars dues payment due and $40.00 dollar uniform shirt money due. (Drum Line and Horn Line) Color Guard will have a different cost for their uniform and Flag Pole.
May:  Camp Rehearsal TBA 2nd rehearsal for Summer Session.

June: Rehearsal TBA. Possible Texas appearance at the Texas Drum Corps Preview in Austin, TX mid month and DCA later in the month. 

June: A Dallas Texas DCA show may be in the works and we will post details as we get them. 

July: Rehearsal TBA. Hutchinson Drum Corps Show. SDCA Show TBA.

July: Prairie Sound May host a show or we may Compete at an SDCA show.

Parade Session Starts While Summer Session Continues until the Minnesota DCA Contest Weekend.

July: Parade Session Starts with Parade Rehearsals  

August: Johnson County Fair Parade and rehearsal.  Full Corps for Parade and rehearsal in preparation for Minnesota DCA Weekend Competitions (this is our largest show of the year and is like our finals). Summer Session Ends after Minnesota DCA Weekend.

September: Mini Corps to DCA competition Tentative. 

October: Local Parade TBA. Prairie Sound business meeting and Awards. Rehearsal to learn Christmas Music. 

End of Parade Session and Christmas Session Starts. (participation in Christmas session is Dues Free)

November: Local Parade TBA, Salvation Army Kettle Drive

December: Salvation Army Kettle Drive. Christmas Concert
